Care to Learn
We have a GREAT WAY to help with Care to Learn! Spread the word and let folks know that we can make a difference.

HISTORY...
In the fall of 2007, Doug Pitt heard some sobering statistics about poverty in Springfield, Missouri. The growing trend of poverty in his hometown was an unwelcomed shock to the native Springfieldian who had lived and worked in the community for over 40 years.
Doug shared the information with those close to him. Doug told about children living in poverty who had to share a toothbrush, a fifth grade boy who was being made fun of because he had to wear his mother’s jeans and teenage girls missing school because of the lack of personal hygiene products. Doug and those he talked with felt strongly that no child should suffer physically or emotionally due to lack of food, access to medical, dental or mental health care, or hygiene issues.
He is now spreading the concept to the St. Louis area and surrounding districts. Are you asking the question...why us? Because we have demonstrated the kind of commitment to helping kids that support such an endeavor.
What does
Care to Learn
do? If a student has a confirmed need related to Health, Hunger, or Hygiene that is proving to be an impediment to learning and school attendance.
Care to Learn
can address it.
Care to Learn
has been helping school children in Southwest Missouri for years.
Hillary Lammert is the district's
Care to Learn
Coordinator. Counselors act as building level representatives. We hope you consider donating to
Care to Learn.
